A brown couch crowds out our living space; the bruised leather reminds me of my toddler’s oft-scraped knees. I have often regretted buying this couch. We had opted for a “good deal” when we bought it several years ago, but now, its quality wears thin. I spent a good deal of mental energy wishing for another couch. But as I practice the Laws of Prosperity and understand that I really can create anything with thought and intention, I run up against a dilemma, a veritable roadblock to my desires.

What do I really want? I browsed through Craig’s List at other couches and through furniture magazines. There are so many choices–the task is daunting. But I cannot not expect to receive anything from the Universe unless I have a clear mental picture of what I want–imbued with emotion–and write it down on paper. Unless I take the time to put it in writing and create my desire first through thought, how can I expect God to give me what I request? To take me seriously? At the same time, I recognize the responsibility that goes along with asking for what I want. My request needs to resonate with my values and the life I desire with my family.

How clear are we about what we want to create in our lives? How much thought-energy do we devote to creating our dream lives?

As for the couch, it’s on hold for the time-being. There are more pressing dreams to channel my energy. But through this little exercise, I ceased complaining, feeling gratitude for the couch.

I have learned to focus with a single-mindedness that shifts dreams into reality… The book Jack Rabbit Factor by Leslie Householder was an instrumental paradigm shifter for me: to stop looking at what others are doing to create success and concentrate on developing my own unique gifts as I master the Laws of Prosperity. It reads like a novel while introducing you to how to use the principles of success in your favor–what most prosperous people inherently understand and practice on a daily basis…

Although I purchased a copy, Leslie offers a free copy of The Jack Rabbit Factor as an ebook if you click on this link.
